Driving critical change at a government owned financial institution

Challenge

A Government owned financial institution was experiencing significant growth and the rapid expansion demanded an uplift in capacity and capability of the central change function, along with several operational changes to ensure an ongoing robust business.

Approach

Project One was engaged as a change management partner to provide a programme and project management service. Initially working to increase the effectiveness of change delivery, defining a new project delivery framework, integrating this with the IT development lifecycle and rolling it out across the change function. In addition, two critical programmes were successfully delivered – one to introduce a more effective way of managing the extensive supplier base and one to migrate business wide document storage to SharePoint.  On the operational side, the Project One team provided additional project management capacity to oversee the move of processes, such as fraud and claims, onto a more robust footing and to consolidate via the migration of loan books.

Outcome

This has been a very successful partnership with the relationship now extended into its second year, via an agreed framework drawdown contract.  The organisation has a more effective change capability, which is now extending across a wider organisational remit, and several programmes have been successfully delivered. Project One continues to work to upskill the internal change delivery team, so that over time there will be less reliance on external support.

“Our capability in Supplier Relationship Management has been brought right up to date. The outcomes align with industry best practice and the information that’s been provided to support Contract Owners, and others, has been well presented, is clear and easy to understand and allows us to adopt a consistent and repeatable approach.”
