An interview with Steve Calder

What attracted you to Project One?

A new challenge. I liked the ‘feel’ of the company from the first conversation with the recruitment lead.

Has it lived up to expectations?

Yes – I have been fortunate to have worked with two great clients since I started – one local to me in the UK and one in Belgium. I have enjoyed having the freedom to just focus on delivering with the client – minimal overheads and total support from across the Project One business.

What sort of person should join Project One?

Those that are passionate about delivery – working directly with client businesses to make a difference and add value to what they do.

WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO PROJECT ONE?

I was familiar with Project One having a number of ex-colleagues and friends join and tell me about the company over the years, so it had been on my radar for a while. That aspect filled me with confidence in terms of calibre of individuals that were hired by Project One. What eventually clinched it for me was the genuinely friendly and competent people I met throughout the interview process and the model Project One operates under.

HAS IT LIVED UP TO EXPECTATIONS?

The Account Directors took it upon themselves to find the ‘right’ first opportunity and showed a lot of care and consideration along the way. There is genuine concern and appetite to make individuals successful and thrive, it’s a very nurturing environment.

WHAT SORT OF PERSON SHOULD JOIN PROJECT ONE?

Project One suits individuals that have a long delivery track record as most, if not all, colleagues have a considerable top tier consulting or big 4 background. It will suit independent, experienced and personable individuals who will genuinely thrive in complex transformation programmes, who enjoy challenging client settings and who are fiercely self-reliant.
